The Department of Romance Languages and Literature at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, USA) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Italian starting in August 2025.
Duties for the position include teaching, research and service. Research and teaching in the Italian program at Notre Dame range from the Middle Ages to the present and collegues are expected to contribute across the curriculum. Standard teaching load include two courses per semester for a total of four courses per academic year. Additional responsabilities, including service, will be determined in consultation with the Department Chair.
– Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude for program leadership in Italian Studies Program [https://italianstudies.nd.edu/]. A Ph. D. in Italian, Romance Studies, or a closely related field is requred, but candidates who are ABD at the time of application will be considered. Native to near native fluency in Italian is also required.
